WP810 - LDAP phonebook

#1

Hello.
I have some questions for phonebook base on LDAP protocol for wifi devices.

When will be available phonebook for WP810 over LDAP protocol (eg. Active Directory contacts)?
Is there any other handheld solution based on wifi technology which has LDAP phonebook still implemnted?

Thank You very much for Your response.
Best regards, Komarek,

Hello.
I have the same Problem with the WP810 - I can’t find the LDAP Implementation…
FW: 1.0.7.18 (also tried 1.0.7.22)
In “LDAP Configuration Guide” is for the WP810 mentioned FW: 1.0.7.7 or higher
https://www.grandstream.com/sites/default/files/Resources/LDAP_Configuration_Guide.pdf

Workaround:
is it possible to direct access (via HTTP-Request) the phonebook.xml from an other device - e.g.GXP1625

Thanks,
Best regards

Bought the WP810 and also trying to sync phonebook. Seems LDAP is supported by WP820 but not on WP810. Any chance to see this in an update? CardDAV would also be welcome.

Anybody got LDAP contacts running with firmware 1.0.11.2?

I use an openldap server on Ubuntu 22.04 (slapd 2.5.11+dfsg-1~exp1ubuntu3) and there are no problems connecting with the softphone Android App GS Wave 1.0.3.34 and also with a GXV3275.

So, there is no problem on server side.

Cheers
Jörg

I turned on debugging in the ldap server with:
dn: cn=config
changeType: modify
replace: olcLogLevel
olcLogLevel: stats

and got the following results for a query with:

  1. Grandstream GXV3275:
    Jun 22 14:22:47 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1003 fd=13 ACCEPT from IP=192.168.0.53:44157 (IP=0.0.0.0:389)
    Jun 22 14:22:47 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1003 op=0 BIND dn="" method=128
    Jun 22 14:22:47 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1003 op=0 RESULT tag=97 err=0 qtime=0.000066 etime=0.000246 text=
    Jun 22 14:22:47 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1003 op=1 SRCH base=“ou=contacts,dc=intranet” scope=2 deref=0 filter="(|(|(cn=abc)(|(homePhone=abc)(mobile=abc)(roomNumber=abc))(mail=abc)))"
    Jun 22 14:22:47 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1003 op=1 SRCH attr=cn homePhone mobile roomNumber mail
    Jun 22 14:22:47 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1003 op=1 SEARCH RESULT tag=101 err=0 qtime=0.000060 etime=0.030612 nentries=30 text=

  2. Grandstream WP810:
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 fd=13 ACCEPT from IP=192.168.0.65:56766 (IP=0.0.0.0:389)
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 op=0 BIND dn="" method=128
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 op=0 RESULT tag=97 err=0 qtime=0.000054 etime=0.000182 text=
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 op=1 SRCH base=“ou=contacts,dc=intranet” scope=2 deref=0 filter="(|(|(homePhone=0123456789)(mobile=0123456789)(roomNumber=0123456789)))"
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 op=1 SEARCH RESULT tag=101 err=0 qtime=0.000050 etime=0.001062 nentries=1 text=
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 op=2 UNBIND
    Jun 22 14:36:37 samson slapd[10812]: conn=1013 fd=13 closed

So the connection works, but the “SRCH attr” seems not to be examined from the WP810?

#7

first make sure you have the updated FW, WP810 supports LDAP not for long,
if it still doesn’t work then open a ticket to grandstream support

#8

you are right. I used firmware 1.0.11.2 which was not the latest.
But I just updated to 1.0.11.8, but LDAP still does not work for me.
I will make a ticket.

#9

Hello,

I have Active Directory as LDAP and I confirm that it does not work. I use exactly the same settings as GRP2604 but I get no results. I used packet capture and I noticed that LDAP returned results correctly but WP810 does not show them. I opened a ticket but engineers told me that LDAP function has no problem. I spent a lot f time so I quit from searching the solution, definitely it’s a bug.

#10

a bug must be recognized as a bug,
I don’t think I read others on the forum who complain that LDAP on WP810 doesn’t work,
so it may not be a bug, but incorrect settings.
If someone on the forum uses LDAP on WP810 they can eventually confirm that it works / doesn’t work.

LDAP settings on GRP2604 may differ from LDAP settings on WP810

Damiano

n.b .: I PM you some LDAP settings for WP810 to try, I don’t have WP810 so I can’t try them, let me know if they work

#11

Thank you for the PM. I confirm that it works with UCM and the settings you sent me. I suspect that Microsoft Active Directory is the problem.

#12

I only use LDAP integrated in UCM,
but starting from this correct information, you surely arrive at setting for Microsoft Active Directory,

good work

WP820 is Android, the 810n 822 and 825 are all Linux (hence they all use the same firmware file)
