System Cleanup doesn't work

#1

Dear all,
I have Grandstream UCM 6204 ( Boot 1.0.19.3, Core 1.0.19.2, Base 1.0.19.27). I configured schedule Backup every day at 8.00 PM for Voice Records and work great, but the automatic cleaner at 10 PM doesn’t work. Every day I delete manually 800 MB of Voice Recording files, because the automatic cleaner doesn{t work. Mi config for that is:
Enable file cleaner - yes
Chose cleaner files: I select all, exept “backup files”
File Clean Threshold: 10
File clean time: 22
File clean interval: 1
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

What message you see. There is log for it.
Fail, ok ?

Dear Marcin,
I´m using internal storage because it is enough for 800/900 MB per day (I not tested what happend using an external USB storage).
The last night messages is below:

Are you sure the Threshold is being met for cleaning? How much storage is used?

Note, you have the threshold set to 10. This will perform the cleanup when 10% of the internal storage is used.

#5

Robcrouse, the total internal storage is 2232 MB. Everyday 800 MB aprox. are used for Voice Recording (today exactly 824 MB). In the option File Clean Threshold: the help say “Once these threshold is excedeed the file cleanup will proceed as schedule”. In that case I understand if 10% is set (more than 223,2 MB) the UCM will proceed with the cleanup everyday at 10.00 pm, because for example today reach 37% (824 MB) of the total internal capacity. Also y tested with other values, for example when I use 45% the UCM say could not make cleaner because the percentage of capacity was not reached.
Thanks in advance.

If you look at the line descriptions, it indicates that no files exists.
I have posted a 6202 screenshot of the file cleaner log, I use external storage for VM, simply because it a) has more storarge capability, and b) is not an internal memory device which like all solid state memory devices has a finite amount of writes before going bad and USB and SD are replaceable. I write as much as I can to the external device in order to preserve the longevity of the PBX. So, 3) external memory is cheaper than a PBX.

Ipneblett,
You are absolutely right, is better to use external USB storage, is cheaper than UCM.
I installed a 7360 MB USB external storage, yesterday the Voice Recording was 512 MB. The SFTP backup works great but after that the Cleaner doesnt work again. Today morning I deleted manually all the Voice Recording Files of yesterday.
The configuration was:
Enable File Cleaner: Yes
Clean Files in External Storage: Yes
Basic Call Recording: Yes (the rest of the options No)
File Clean Treshold: 1
File Clean Time: 22
File Clean Interval: 1

The files of Voice Recording stil in the storage and the log result was:

Cleanup Type: Basic Call,Recording Files,File Cleaner ,Cleanup Time 2019-09-02 22:00:01 ,Previous cleanup time. 2019-09-01 22:00:02 , No files exist. The cleaning interval may be too short.

Cleanup Type: Basic Call,Recording Files,File Cleaner ,Cleanup Time 2019-09-02 22:00:01 ,Previous cleanup time. 2019-09-01 22:00:02 , No files exist. The cleaning interval may be too short.

The File Clean Treshold is about internal storage and Im using external storage…I dont know what happen with that parameter when you use external storage.

One more, I said “SFTP backup works great” but…minutes ago I checked the SFTP Server, receive the compresed file, but is empty. No Voice Recording Files inside. My conclusion is schedule back up dont work with USB External Storage.

#9

1st hover over the clean threshold, it indicates the same settings are in use for both. This assumes you are using a SD card or a USB stick so it can check the storage size.

SFTP works over Ethernet, so am uncertain what you are using with a USB device. You need to go to backup and then data sync. Typically the connection is to a SFTP server or a NAS that support SFTP

#10

You have normal or queue recordings ?

#11

Marcin, I have normal voice recordings. Near 1000 / 1100 calls per day , about 700 / 800 MB total. Thanks

#12

Ipneblett, I use “SFTP Solar Winds”.
If I use the Internal Storage, every day at 8.00 PM , the Schedule BackUP function send all the voice recording files to the SFTP Server (ZIP file including all the voice recording files). If I use external storage (USB Pendrive, not SD card), at 8.00 PM the UCM send to SFTP Server a ZIP file with folders inside but no voice recording files.
At 10.00 PM the Cleaner can not delete the voice recording files automatically (same if I use the internal storage or the USB pendrive). Every day at morning, I delete manually the voice recording files of the previous day. Thanks and best regards.

It look strange to be sure. OIpen ticket to GS directly.
