Hi,
I’m considering a UCM6302 for a few clients. I used a UCM6102 for a few years so I have an idea how the SIP/phone side works. The new requirement now is SMS and even MMS (for photos and other larger media). Most people now assume they can send text messages to any number, including business numbers, so I want to let my customers communicate that way.
This would mean the ability to send and receive messages through the mobile and desktop Wave apps. Inbound messages would need to display notifications appropriate to the platform (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, browser). Note that I’m not talking about SIP messaging on deskphone displays; I mean the actual SMS and MMS that can be exchanged with pretty much any cell phone on the planet. The platform would need to be configured to register SMS/MMS-capable numbers with several trunk providers (Telnyx, Flowroute, etc.), then programmed to exchange messages through each provider’s API.
3CX has this capability (with some limitations) and I believe Vodia does as well. Where is Grandstream on this now?
