No Inbound Calls when Extending Analogue Line using HT813's - Peer to Peer

#1

Hi,

I have 2 HT813’s and my goal is to extend an analogue line over a local network on the same subnet.

I have been using the following configuration guide with regards to setup:

The settings I have changed are as follows (any settings not listed will have been left with it’s default value):

HT812-A (10.10.10.1) - Telephone Line connected to FXO port

  • FXO Port Settings

    Number of Rings: 1
    PSTN Ring Thru FXS: No

    WAN DNS Server 1: 10.10.10.101
    WAN DNS Server 2: 10.10.10.102

HT812-B (10.10.10.2) - Telephone Handset Connected to FXS port

  • FXS Settings
    Primary Sip Server: 10.10.10.1:5062
    SIP User ID: 1234
    Authenticate ID: 1234
    Sip Registration: No
    SLIC Setting: UK
Caller ID Scheme: SIN 227 - BT

  • Basic Settings
    WAN IP Address: 10.10.10.2
    WAN Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    WAN Default Router: 10.10.10.254
    WAN DNS Server 1: 10.10.10.101
    WAN DNS Server 2: 10.10.10.102

With these settings, I am able to successfully make an outbound call from the Telephone Handset.
However Inbound calls do not make it through to the Telephone Handset.

On HT812-A (10.10.10.1) I had changed Primary Sip Server to 10.10.10.2:5060 (with port number) But this made no difference, so changed back.
I had also set Unconditional Call Forward to VOIP: Sip Server to 10.10.10.2 But this too made no difference, so changed back to blank.

I had set up a Syslog Server; and on an FXO Inbound call, I can see that HT812-A (10.10.10.1) detects an incoming call on its FXO port, but it just rings and rings, with seemly no attempt to forward the call onto HT812-B (10.10.10.2). Nothing logged by HT812-B (10.10.10.2) during this.

I am very much a VOIP noob, and I’m not too sure where to look/diagnose this issue.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated, as I could be missing something quite obvious.

Many Thanks
Gary
