Missed calls and voicemail issues

#1

I have noticed that if I get a call that goes through to voicemail, this does not show up under missed calls or history. Is there any way to fix that?

Also I don’t know I have got voicemail unless I open the app and click the messages tab, Any way to get some standard OS notification of a new voicemail?

#2

it appears only as a missed call, if it goes directly to the answering machine obviously you don’t see it in the history

#3

I think you are missing the point here.
Imagine if a courier tried to deliver a parcel, but you were not home… but you had no idea that someone tried to deliver a parcel, unless you went to look in a specific place for a message that had been left for you.
You are only going to know about that parcel if you remember to regularly go and check that specific place for messages,

anyway it works like this, it works like this
if you don’t like it you can open a ticket to Grandstream Support to explain what changes you want to get:

There are opposing opinions about when calls should, or should not, appear as a missed call.

You posted this in Softphone Applications, so what version of the App are you using and what device are you using?

What happens if you do a test call to your Softphone while you have the App open and do not answer the call? How does that compare to what happens when the App is closed?

Any way to get some standard OS notification of a new voicemail?

The OS isn’t going to know about a new Voicemail message unless the App notifies the OS. If the App isn’t running when a call attempts to reach your device then there is no way that you can receive any kind of notification.

in my opinion it is exactly the opposite

#7

Android 1.0.3.34

I didn’t say i don’t get voicemails, i said I don’t know I have got voicemail unless I open the app and click the messages tab.

It is possible to get notifications from apps when they are closed, those is actually pretty standard feature and most apps do this. It’s called a push notification.

#8

which app are you using? Only GS Wave lite (or WAVE in case of UCM630X) are Official Grandstream apps, and only if associated with PBX UCM Grandstream.

#9

Are you trying to say, in a strange obtuse, roundabout way, that the grandstream app is not capable of running in the background and receiving push notifications like other apps?

#10

grandstream wave 1.0.3.34

#11

https://documentation.grandstream.com/article-categories/soft-app/

pbx used?

#12

I use soho66.co.uk

#13

You did not answer my question, what device are you using? Apps often work differently between Android & Apple. Whether an App runs in the background is determined by both the App and the OS.

You are using Soho66 which is providing PBX as a service, so there are many PBX settings that you do not have access to. Perhaps they can answer your question more directly.

I have given you the best answer that I can based on the information you have provided.

#14

I did answer your questions actually.
I said “Android 1.0.3.34”

#15

Android v1 ?? That is not going to run the Gs Wave App.

#16

ok is the latest version of GS WAve lite for android,
For assistance, you should open a ticket to Grandstream Support:

#17

Rick, here is what you asked me

You posted this in Softphone Applications, so what version of the App are you using and what device are you using?

Android is the name of the OS running on the phone.
1.0.3.34 is the version of the app (grandstream wave)

#18

Now that you have cleared that up, it looks like you should contact Grandstream support. They will know if your request is on the development list.

#19

there is no way to contact grandstream support if you are only using the free app, it redirects you here… thus why I am posting here…
