Custom Certificate upload format

#1

With the ability now to upload a custom certificate to the desk phones, I am having issues with uploading generated SSL Certificate.

I have tried a number of SSL certificate formats

  • .pem
  • .p12
  • .crt

However it doesn’t accept them stating the error. “Upload file failed. Please make sure the file format is correct and try again.”

Checked the manual and it doesn’t state what format that it requires.

Inputting the text into the fields is not possible since it is a wild card certificate and the text fields only allow 2048 chars.

Any one have any insight to this query.
Thanks

You need a PEM decoded X.509 certificate. So the CRT or PEM file sounds good. But the upload file must contain the certificate and the key. Which extension the upload file has doesn’t matter. It depends on the content and the file looks like this:

-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----
YOUR PEM DECODED CERTIFICATE
-----END CERTIFICATE-----
-----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY-----
YOUR KEY
-----END PRIVATE KEY-----

The key should be without a passphrase!

After the upload reboot the phone and clear your browser cache.
