After answering a transfered call, the original caller should be displayed, not the extension that transfered

#1

Connected to a UCM6xxx, after answering a transfered call, the original caller should be displayed, not the extension that has transfered.

I have connected the DP752 with DP730 (Ext.1000) and a GXP2170 (Ext.1001) to a UCM6202:

After transferring an incoming call via SIP-Trunk from the DP730 to the GXP2170, the original caller-ID (+49179123456789) is displayed on the GXP2170, like it should be.

After transferring an incoming call via SIP-Trunk from the GXP2170 to the DP730, the internal caller-ID from the GXP2170 (1001) the is displayed on the DP730, but it should be the same like before.

does this happen on a BLIND transfer? or only a Consultative?

Haha, this very interesting!

What I have described in the first post, is the attended (Consultative) transfer.
I tried it now with Blind transfer and it is exactly the other way round than with Attended transfer:

this makes sense to me.

in an Attended transfer situation, A calls B. B then calls C, C should see B’s caller id. then later, B transfer A to C

In a blind transfer, A calls B, then during transfer, effectively A calls C

I think though, what you’re hoping for is “Connected Line ID”, wherein:
A calls B
B calls C (consultative transfer)
C sees B’s name
B completes the transfer, so A is talking to C
now, C should see A?

Yes, in general: when A is connected to B (with Blind or Attended transfer) the Caller-ID of B should be shown and when A is connected to C (with Blind or Attended transfer) the Caller-ID of A should be shown.

This works with Attended transfer, when the DP730 is B (and GXP2170 is C), but not when the DP730 is C!

This works with Blind transfer, when the DP730 is C (and GXP2170 is B), but not when the DP730 is B!

This is not true. Both are PBX related. Attended need to be supported by PBX as PBX decide what is displayed via reinvite with new number after transfer.

Anyway i also confirm: It is bug in 730 which show no change after reinvite

I just tested this issue should be fixed already on our internal release. Please help to confirm when it’s official released. :grinning:

This happens to me when incoming SIP call is answered on GXP2170 and assisted transferred to GXP2140 both with firmware v. 1.0.9.135. Shawn, what version was this supposed to be fixed on?

#9

It is DP problem not GXP ?

#10

This should be opened as a new thread; the one you posted to is over 8 months old and deals with a different model phone.

This is a general problem with the most older series.
It is fixed in the new GRP26xx-series!
