issue with creating cfg.xml files, macid
« on: November 08, 2017, 08:51:21 AM »
hello and thanks for reading this.

as per xml_configuration_file_generator_windows_user_guide.pdf, the only macids that are acceptable are "The MAC address must start with 000b82 or 000B82 which means it is a Grandstream product".

the problem is that i am using a softphone and the macid would be the macid of the cellphone.
i assume that app itself does not have a macid or virtual macid,

thus, i cannot seem to create and xml file using the generator.

when i try to manually tweak the xml files, to use the macid of my cellphone, it does not seem to work.

can someone help me with this?
thanks in advance,
david

xml file do not need any mac inside, just remove it.

thanks and i already did that and it works.

the problem is without the ability to use the macid, i am forced to use cfg.xml and there can only be one of them per folder.
thus, for each softphone i need to create a dedicated folder for it.
and have to mangle the xml path from www.example.com/fs to www.example.com/fs/47433334
.
normally i would be able to give my employees the same xml path, and now i have to give each employee their own unique xml path.

thanks,
david
