*98 in IVR

New FW is missing a feature I used for many of our end users who like to call into the IVR and check the messages in their mailbox. Before we would forward an unused extension to *98. You cannot do that anymore with the new FW. Another feature with our old PBX's was the ability for a mailbox to call an external number when there is a new message. Is that possible?
