GS Wave Auto-answer on iPhone does not work properly

Using GS Wave on iphone. We are using Sangoma back end and are utilizing the intercom/paging features as well as auto-answer by dialing *80 + extension.

Summary of problems:

1. On GS Wave, if app is open and phone unlocked, auto answer works. However, it does not answer in speaker mode, so the user cannot hear or be aware  that there was an intercom page or auto-answered call.

2. If phone is locked, the app only rings the iPhone's default ring tone and does not auto-answer at all.

I have submitted a ticket with Grandstream and they are aware of the issue and promised a fix.
