How to install firmware STEP BY STEP
Where did you get Ver 1.1.6.39 from?
This is how i did it.
I created a directory called GXP (or what ever you like) in the root directory of my webserver (where your website files are located).
I then dowloaded and copied the files to this location.
Then in the GXP web UI under andvanced settings tab set "Firmware provisioning and upgrade via HTTP" to checked
Then enter the following in the firmware server path box "IP_Address_Of_Webserver/GXP"
This method works even for remote extensions
(for remote extentions you would enter www.infocentro.com/GXP ).
Once you have set this up you only need to replace the firmware files in thios directory to upgrade the firmware.
This method works well in my setup.
Good Luck!
i got the new FW by email from GS. Goodluck I know I did everything right because this is the answer I received by GS: "I'm not sure why your phone cannot upgrade via www.centromedia.com. I would need a trace to find out what the problem is. Can you try to upgrade via TFTP instead?"Consider I put the files even in the root dir to be sure.
It's still not possible to upgrade from the FW x.37 to x.39 !!! I even resetted the phone to factory settings. Even the GS tech to who I am in contact doesn't know the reason... I think this FW messed up all our phones, if so I don't even wanna think about all the other users in the world...

After I read your post I tried the update and it worked fine first go. As you can see above.Sorry about the messy post. But the formatting options on this forum are abismal.I don't know what Giulio is doing wrong. I used the same link I sent him.
Thank you everybody for your time.Unfortunatelly our time costs money and I can't spend time to make tests and try to let a phone work that should work without any headaches. It was already over a week we had this problems and in a company there can't be any justified reason to have this problems. We aren't joking here, we must do real work. Therefore we took the decision to sell all Grandstream phones and this morning we have already a new installed system. I hope you can find the way in future to have less problems with Grandstreams firmware ;-)Have a nice day, kindly regards from Italy, Giulio Straccia
