Where you ever able to get the default idle screen? I would also like the XML file.

I honestly don't think the default screen has an XML counterpart. If you're looking to do some things with the XML idle screen, you could take the XML i wrote here: http://forums.grandstream.com/node/517 and modify it to suit your needs.
