How to set dedicated FXO lines to extension with GXW4108?

Dear All,

Does anybody of you ever try to combine 3CX IP PBX (Softswitches) with GrandStream GXW4108 as PSTN trunk?

We have an issues regarding to the dedicated line, if we would like to set dedicated lines between 3CX IP PBX (8 extension lines) i.e : ext. 201 - 208 and then we would like to set for each extension only dedicated to 1 FXO port of GXW4108 lines is mean we don't want to use round-robin methods in this case.

Is it possible to set kind of that with 3CX IP PBX and GXW4108?

Dear All,

Just for additional information this method we would like to implement either for outgoing and incoming calls.

For incoming call i just see on user manual that perhaps we can use Unconditional Call configuration to forward for each incoming calls to specific extension behind of IP PBX.

Then for outgoing call, is it possible if each extension have an one specific line for each outgoing call?

Yes you can.  Typical scenario would be executive private lines while normal staff
share trunks.

On outbound routes use extension parameter on 3CX.  Inbound route to either
a secretary or direct to executive's phone.

Anyway, more specific that we describe in details :

1. This user want to set up 3CX on their main office
2. Since their HQ office quite far away from their branches, so the user want to put GXW4008 and connect for each ports of GXW4008 by extension to their existing traditional PABX (Panasonic) i.e : extensions 181-188
3. Then inside of 3CX softswitches the user already set 8 extensions for their IP Phones from 181-188
4. The configuration of GXW4008 that we want try to set :

    Incoming call :
   
- Gateway FXO port no.1 should always forward to the ext.181 of 3CX with IP Phone
- Gateway FXO port no.2 should always forward to the ext.182 of 3CX with IP Phone
- continuing till FXO port no.8 should always forward to ext.188of 3CX with IP Phone



    Outgoing call :

- Ext.181 of 3CX IP Phone should always using FXO port 1
- Ext.181 of 3CX IP Phone should always using FXO port 2
- continuing till Ext.188 of 3CX IP Phone should always using FXO port 8

Here's i describe in text :

HQ : Traditional PABX, 3CX, and GXW4008

Branch Office 4 : 2 IP Phones with ext. 187 & 188

Branch Office 3 : 2 IP Phones with ext. 185 & 186

Branch Office 2 : 2 IP Phones with ext. 183 & 184

Branch Office 1 : 2 IP Phones with ext. 181 & 182


Again, is that possible to set as i mentioned previously for each incoming call we can set with unconditional call forward to VoIP feature?

If i.e : On Unconditional Call Forward to VoIP, under User ID we set and type in : ch1:181;ch2:182;ch3:183;ch4:184;ch5:185;ch6:186;ch7:187;ch8:188

And then for Outgoing Call, is there any suggestion to set specific destination port from PABX to GXW4008 for each outgoing calls?

Yes our user want to implement GXW4108 with their existing 3CX and PABX on their environment.

For your referenced link the steps mostly same as the 3CX support link on : http://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/Grandstream-GXW-41044108.html

We also got explanation from GrandStream team about the configuration, and their recommendation as same as 3CX guys description with set the port and channels.

i.e:

1. User should set the SIP Profile to create communication between GXW4108 and 3CX
2. After that user should insert the channels on Channels Tab following the extension of 3CX that has been set up
3. Completed the Channels with : SIP User ID, Authenticate ID, Authenticated Password and Profile
4. And the important things that i am still doubt about this features is user should set up the Local SIP Listen Port as part of Channel Spesific Setting i.e : ch1-8:5060++; (Which is means for each channels should directed to specific port i.e : Ch1 : 5060, Ch2 : 5062 and so on

According to the GrandStream engineer we can set the rule on 3CX according to the spesific settings have.

Do you have ever tested like above configuration before?

It sounds like we all agree so far.

The default wizard for Grandstream on the 3CX assumes round robin.
Create the individual PSTN Gateways separately for each channel.
(You can follow the 3CX wizard examples to know what to fill in for each port.)

When you create the Outbound Rule you will see why you need them separate.

Create an individual outbound rule for each port.
In the "Calls from extension(s)"  field, fill in the extension that is to have exclusive use of the
gateway channel.

i think yes, it was few years ago.
Anyway i tested 410x many times and confirmed that most important is correct settings.
