HT-503 sending caller id to 3CX and also background noise
« on: February 14, 2017, 05:18:57 AM »
Hello

I'm new to VoIP and am experimenting with a HT-503 connected to a 3CX PBX.
I'm pretty happy with the way that things have gone, so far.  However, I do face a couple of issues that I'd like some assistance with, please.

1) I can't get caller id to transmit to 3CX.  Using syslog I can see that the caller id is retrieved but none of the subsequent messages mention it - see below.  The HT-503 "Caller ID Transport Type" is set to "Relay via SIP From".  The "10000" in the messages below is the SIP ID assigned to the HT-503.  Any ideas how I can get the CID sent to 3CX?

2) There is a background noise (like a hiss) when making and receiving calls via the HT-503.  Again, anyone know how I can remove this?

Many thanks.

Good news!  I've got the caller id working  ;D
On the "FXO PORT" page, I changed the "Tel URI" fields to "Enabled"

So...the only problem that I now have is the sound quality.
Any clues on that one?

Thanks.

Try codec:
PCM (check both)

The two PCM options are at the top of the list of codes already.  Maybe I need to try swapping the codes around?

Did you changed RX/TX settings on 503 ?

Just set all PCM on 503 which remove any other codecs.
